Shenoi Goembab
A pioneering writer, poet, linguist, and activist he led the revival of Konkani language during 1920-40s. His literary works shaped modern Konkani and laid the foundation for uniting all Konkani people for which his death anniversary, is now observed as Vishwa Konkani Dis.
A renowned Goan singer, composer, and lyricist, he was hailed as the "Melody King of Goa." His career spanned the 1960-90s, producing numerous evergreen Konkani hits and contributing significantly to the Konkani cultural heritage.
Manoharrai Sardessai
A renowned Goan poet, writer, and academic, he contributed hugely to Konkani language during 1950-90s. His works span various genres, reflecting deep cultural and social insights. His lyrical poetry has fuelled a number of memorable Konkani songs.
Wilfy Rebimbus
A celebrated Mangalorean Konkani singer, songwriter, and playwright he was known as the "Konkan Kogul" (Nightingale of Konkani) during the 1960-90s. His contributions to Konkani music and culture earned him immense respect and admiration.
Chris Perry
A legendary, unparalleled trumpeter, composer and conductor who beautifully fused Jazz into Konkani music which rocks even today 50 years later. His style of impactful, elegantly simplistic lyric-writing is the gold-standard for Konkani songwriters.
Eric Ozario
A renowned Konkani music composer and cultural activist from Mangalore he was instrumental in Konkani becoming an optional language in Karnataka schools since 2007. His institutions promote Konkani heritage and unity among all Konkani people.
